my top 5

Social media tips

Over the last two years, I've spent a lot of time and money on educating myself on how to work this new world of branding. Here are just a few of the things I've implemented into my business as a stylist.

That word "VISION" started to transform in my mind. No longer was it vision, as in eyesight, it was a more powerful form of vision - the kind that looks forward into the future

more than

Just a hair stylist

Everyone knows that when you find your forever stylist it's about so much more than just hair.

Nice to meet you!

I’ve been a hairstylist for about 14 years (not including all the years I cut my Barbie dolls, baby dolls, friends, and even my own hair).

I’ve been a commission stylist, a booth renter, and a salon suite owner; currently a commission stylist at the beautiful Scene North Salon in Lutherville, MD.

I value education, team work, and a kick-ass salon experience. And above all, I believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way, and it’s my job to help them see it.

Sometimes it’s as simple as an updated hair style, but often times it’s more than that. I’m the stylist that over time becomes your friend. I’m the one you talk to when things are amazing...and when they’re not so amazing. I’m the one that celebrates your wins with you, and cries when you have to move away. I’m the one you learn to trust so well that when you sit in my chair you know you’ll be well taken care of.

Why am I the Hair Rebel? Well, simply put, I don’t do things by the book (most of the time). I don’t keep color cards so that we can truly create a color that’s unique to you and so that neither of us gets stuck in a rut. I utilize British, French, and Japanese cutting techniques - and one day maybe more! I’m constantly learning; there will never be a time that I’m not currently involved in a class, just finishing a class, or about to start a new one. I’m honest. No, really - I’ll tell you if that style you’re rocking maybe shoulda been retired a year, or two, or ten ago. Or if your harebrained idea for bangs is probably not the best idea. And I value your honesty equally in return. If you hate it, just tell me. I can handle it.

My name is Cerissa (Sir-ee-suh), and I am Hair Rebel Baltimore. I can’t wait for you to join my hair revolution.

"Let me begin by saying Cerissa is a true hair artist! She stays current with all of the new techniques, coloring trends/procedures and is always open to explaining how and why certain things work. She believes in continuing her education and attends course all over (some where she teaches and some enhance her exceptional technique).  This is her craft and she takes pride in sharing the knowledge behind it.
